Am I eligible for in home care?

If you have difficulty getting to a doctor’s office, then in home healthcare visits are likely covered in the same manner as a regular visit to an office based physician.

What insurance do you accept?

We accept Medicare and most other insurances. Private pay options are also available.

Will my insurance cover at home healthcare?

Medicare and Medicaid insurance will cover in home care for those patients who qualify. Medicare will cover 80% of the allowed amount with the other 20% billed to the patient’s secondary insurer, the same as the physician’s office. Visiting Physicians Association also has an Indigent Care program for those who qualify.

How much does a VPA house call cost?

We accept Medicare and most insurance for VPA house calls. Deductibles or co-payments required for medical services are handled in the same way as a trip to a physician’s office.

Do you take Medicaid?

We do accept home health care patients with Medicaid coverage.

Do you take private pay patients?

Yes. We require a $500 deposit prior to the first visit.

How quickly can a doctor visit?

Home doctor visits can typically be scheduled within 24-48 hours (during the week) of receiving your call. However, there are some exceptions so please call the VPA location in your area for exact schedule times.

Is in home care offered on the weekend?

Ordinarily the house call doctor makes visits Monday thru Friday.

How often do home doctors come out to visit?

Your health care needs will determine house call frequency. If you are sick and experiencing issues, your doctor will see you more often. Your VPA physician will create a plan with you for your overall management of health.

What if I need an urgent house call?

Our mobile healthcare services prevent many urgent needs by seeing patients on an appropriate follow-up basis. When needed, we can usually get to your home for urgent needs with 24-48 hours.

What mobile healthcare services do you offer?

We offer basically the same health care services you would receive in a doctor’s office setting including physical examinations, laboratory services, diagnostic testing and mobile x-ray.

What if I have to go to the hospital?

Visiting Physicians Association works with all the local area hospitals and will continue your health care before, during and after your hospital stay.

What are the in home care doctor hours?

VPA physicians generally make house calls between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm.

Will I see the same doctor on each house call?

We make every effort to send the same doctor to visit you for each house call.

Can I still see my regular doctor?

VPA will assume the role of your primary care provider. VPA will advise your regular doctor during your course of treatment and consult with any specialty providers you have as deemed necessary.

What if I need to contact my doctor after hours?

After hours, we have an on-call service that is available to triage your health care needs.

Do you come out for emergency visits?

Feel free to contact the doctor at any time; we will schedule a sick visit within 24 to 48 hours. However, if it is a life threatening emergency, please call 911 or go to the emergency room.
